Construction of a new 100 bed Premier Inn and Cookhouse Restaurant using steel frame podium deck with timber frame to upper levels. External façade comprising, traditional brickwork, stone and metal cladding to achieve the required fire ratings. Aluminium windows and screens throughout, with feature colours. Extremely tight site landlocked between existing building directly on the sea front. Highway alterations had to be agreed legally and constructed to enable the site set up and deliveries unloading areas. During holiday periods, the beach front location was heavily pedestrianised, so continuous management was required along with careful consideration for the public.

In addition to the logistical challenges, the project demanded close collaboration with local authorities, environmental consultants and specialist contractors to ensure full compliance with coastal development regulations. The proximity to the shoreline required robust design solutions to withstand harsh weather conditions, salt exposure and increased wind loads, while also maintaining the architectural quality expected for a prominent seafront landmark. Careful sequencing of works was essential to minimise disruption to neighbouring businesses and residents, as well as to maintain safe routes for the high volume of pedestrians frequenting the promenade. Through meticulous planning, proactive communication, and coordinated site operations, the team successfully delivered a modern, durable, and visually cohesive development that enhances the surrounding area and supports tourism in the region.
